You need to be logged in as the root user. At the login screen type root then at the password screen type in the root password. That is the 1st password you set during the linux install.

This is what I keep coming to.Just wondering,
do I need the DVD in the PS3,and do I have to be in GNOME,or
is Enlightenment ok for setting up Yumex.

I've iw now with the disk in,under enlightenment and Gnome
and still cannot get Yumex. Does anyone have any ideas.

yumex.noarch 1.0.3-3.0.fc5 installed
Matched from:
yumex
[Please register to see this link. ]

It looks to me that this has become a dead link,and all searches for Yumex I have done,reference back to this link. So,maybe if someone could help me out and maybe send me a copy of the required file,I would be very grateful.Or if anyone know another way to obtain it?

Nevermind guys,I finally got it. All this time I was typing
"yum search yumex".So while I was reading,I saw a post that
mentioned "yum -y" refering to another app.So I typed "yum -y search yumex".
It Worked!! The link wasn't dead after all. Damn.Thanks anyways.

Then change the Fedora-Extras

What it says from this tutorial:
[fedora-extras]
name=Fedora Extras
baseurl=http://download.fedora.redhat.com/pub/fedora/linux/extras/5/ppc
gpgcheck=0
enabled=0

What it needs to say:
[fedora-extras]
name=Fedora Extras
baseurl=http://download.fedora.redhat.com/pub/fedora/linux/extras/5/ppc
gpgcheck=0
enabled=1

Then go to the Terminal and type:
yum search yumex

Then type:
yum install yumex

and finally type:
yumex

After you are finished change the Fedora-Extra.repo back

I found the changes for the yum.conf file and the Fedora-Extra.repo at:

I hope this helps everyone who is still having trouble.[/quote]

what do you mean by "change the Fedora-extra.repo back" --- back to "0"? and what should I do once I have yumex open? can I install what ever I want?
by the way everything works fine once I made the changes that you indicated --thanks dude!!

Yes change it from 1 back to 0. But I still had trouble installing VLC and SNES9x. I kept getting dependency issues. There are actually 9 repo's you need and they are different than what is listed on this site. Once I can remeber where I got them I will post again.

Here is the link to download the Zip for all the Repos.

I got it from a site called tbreak.com They have a really good tutorial on how to install everthing and fix Yum and install VLC, Mplayer, and SNES9x.
Here is the link to the tutorial

Thanks to Solid over at Tbreak.com for taking the time to make the tutorial.
