Activating Ethernet on YDL

Hey there !
I successfully installed YDL 6 on the PS3
(on a 720i old sony flat screen)

The systems is ok (windows are a bit too big for a proper use, but firefox seems ok anyway), but EHTERNET is not activated !

=> How can y activate Ethernet ?
(i dont care about wifi, the PS3 is wired directly to internet via RJ45.)

Is the install of YDL5 or YDL6?

Yes... directly !
I typed the 1rm command line but it did not find what had to be removed

i had a quick look into etc / sysconfig / ... and saw by myself that i had not those eth0 files.

I think that a have to crete the ETHERNET connexion with the GUI, but when i'm asked the name of the PS3 hardware... i'm stuck.

I still do not unsterstand why YDL on PS3 does not activate wired RJ45 ethernet by default...

Thanks for your help, i'm starting to be really pi.... off with linux.
Wdoze has really 20year late in security and all... but is 20 years ahead in terms of ease to use !

Well to be honest I let go off linux last week. I just found nothing else to do on it, so I can't remember what I did to get ethernet to work.
