add new program w/ no internet connection

hi all

i've download YDL 6.0 n install it to my ps3
everything goes smooth

but the default installation came up w/ no program can run movie file

so i tried to install VLC player
but what makes me frustrated is, everytime i try to install
the system always ask me for to retrieve information from the internet

so my question is,
there is anyway to install or add new program w/ no internet connection?
