VLC on Yellow Dog Linux

Hello guys.

I use VLC media player on YDL and I was wondering if anyone know how to get subtitles to work. I've tried rightclicking and choose Track 1, but it's not working.

It's also strange when I play a divx movie on VLC. When I want to pause the film, the pause symbol is Yellow instead of the standard White as you see in Windows... how come?
