Trying to install YDL...just getting black screen

so...im running through the install Yellow Dog just as the stickied post says, and everything is going fine. cept, im not on an HDTV, so it didnt go to any graphical thing. i get to the kboot line, and i wait like the guide tells me to since this is my first install, and i need to get everything up and running, etc. after a second or two, the screen just goes black, and there doesnt seem to be any signal comming from the PS3 to the TV.

what do i do? ive been looking around the forums and i cant find anything that tells me how to fix this problem.

I'm supposed to do the "text-install" from the second post of the guide, but i cant get farther than the kboot line, and i never set a root password or anything like that.

Hey, when you get to the kboot prompt, don't wait, hit the TAB key and it will cycle through some options on the screen at the prompt, TAB until you get to text install and then let it run.
