Any news about a update to fix the resolution?

Cause trying to fix the resolution is driving me crazy. 420i looks good but everything is huge and overlapping and 720p everything fits on my hdtv but can't read anything unless really close up. I've looked on many forums and faqs but still nothing good. What are res are you running and what you do to set it up.
