Downloaded files but......? - PS3Hax

I am beginning to put yellow dog on my ps3. I used the links in the tutorial post, but when the download to my computer they are a file type my computer can't read. I tried using Fileext website to find out what type of program created these downloads to no avail. Can anyone tell me what program I need to open these up with so I can get it on my pc and then burn them? The two files are otheros.self and otheros.bld

GET A CHEAP FLASH DRIVE FROM ANY COMPUTER STORE SOFTWARE STORE, I GOT MINE FOR $8 PUT THE SETUP FILES ON IT, ITS EASY AND CONVENIENT I TAKE MY FLASH DRIVE WITH ME IF I NEED IT, FITS IN MY POCKET....

So I can just store the downloaded images on there even though my pc can't read them? I know have to burn yellow dong onto a dvd.
