Install failed, why is linux so UN user freindly?
Hey there, I just followed the great instructions on this and other sites to try and get ydl on my ps3.
Now I know Im a linux newb but there are so many hoops to jump through, that this has been a total
pain in the ass and a waste of time. I just want to watch my divx files in the front room without converting
them to mp4. But now after spending nearly 2 hours of my time the installation has failed. Maybe I'll give it
another shot some other time but to be honest, conversion seems niceer option now.
The installation (already a nightmare on regular t.v) failed about 75% the way in saying a certain package
could not be installed and some bs about failing to unmount the cd drive. Well, its not a cd for one, and I have
burned thousand dvd's on my pc using the same media (movies, ps2 games) and never had any problems.
It tells me to reboot. Start over? F**k that!
I just wish Linux was not just aimed at computer experts. I will strongly reccomend anyone thinking of trying this,
who isnt really savvy with this stuff to just pass it by. :-}
