Trying to install Firefox 3.0... and failing.

Hi, I'm pretty new to linux (this is my second attempt after a long break from trying to get my head around it). I understand repos and even alittle bit of compiling. But I can't seem to figure out Firefox 3.0. This is a pretty fresh installation of YDL 6.0, so I've got firefox 2 on here at the moment.

I downloaded the Linux version from the official site (since I couldn't seem to find it on any repo). But it didn't seem to have any sort of installer and the main executable didn't do anything. Google didn't find me anything and then I remembered this site being pretty helpful. Anyone have any ideas?

PS Sorry about starting a new thread. I was thinking about putting this in the "YDL 6.0" thread but figured it's probably the same on YDL 5 aswell.

I have not seen as yet a PPC specific Firefox 3 release.

You have to wait for that.

You should give Opera 9.51 a try. I know it's not the same as Firefox. But it's definatly faster then Firefox 2, which on the PS3 is always a good thing.

Installed Opera yesterday on YDL6 without any problems, there are 2-3 addons functions from firefox that i still miss but besides that i don't have a reason to go back
