VLC plays my mp3z just fine. I can't seem to get it to play any type of video files. Am I missing some type of rendering/codec or something? Any ideas on how to fix this?

OPEN UP THE KONSOLE .... LOGIN AS ROOT BY COMMAND su or su -p THEN USE THE COMMAND mv to move the repos to the desktop so that you can edit them properly, i believe the repos are in /etc/yum.repos.d/ find each file move each one to desktop using konsole then edit each one properly, and yes i know how time consuming this is TRUST ME but it works.....

You MUST be missing some dependencies, MAKE SURE that you are installing you dependdencies under the GNOME environment..... check and make sure you have ALL the dependencies installed from the tutorial.....

noob question but what is the gnome environment and how do i install my dependencies through the gnome environment? sorry and thanks!

EDIT: ah now i just found the gnome terminal but how do u install dependencies through it? i followed the tutorial and double clicked the rpm files to install them. i have no idea how to do this through gnome. any hints?

EDIT 2: i double clicked on the rpm files again to make sure and it says that the package is already installed if that helps. so it must be somewhere, its just that vlc is not seeing it i guess. hope that helps
