I have the mplayer up and running but it wont play any of my avi files in full screen. It plays them in a small box and then when i hit full screen it stays the same size and puts a blue border around it. Is there any way to get the avi file to fill the whole screen.

Great Guide but when i open nautiful up under /usr/local/lib/mplayer/ i try to create a skins folder and it tells me i can't, i don't have permission, help please, do i have to create the folder under the command line?
ha, good grab on that avatar. u need to be logged in as root to be able to create skins folder in the mplayer area. re-login and set it up all nice and then u can run it from your normal user account. don't forget the subfont, read the how to thread about 4 or 5 posts down or search for subfont in the search bar on the front page.

shell = console in linux just like dos cmd in windose do it one time mplayer -fs -zoom -sws 0 after you got the option open with (mplayer) will auto link it next time on top list were you input your firs comand.so right click open with mplayer after mplayer -fs -zoom -sws 0 was done
