PS3 PAL games on PS3 NTSC console. Is it work?

Hi, guys!
I have a question about PS3 games compatibility. Help me, pleeeeez!
I've bought in the USA NTSC PS3 console (40Gb version). This summer I'm moving to PAL region. So, can I play PS3 PAL games on my PS3 NTSC console? I will play games wich released in Russia (it's a PAL region).

I'm realy confused. I asked many people. And nobody no exactly. I asked this question on Sony's support service. But they didn't know too!!! I've asked in BestBuy, Target, RadioShack and they didn't know too!!! I'm very surprised that such companies don't know information about their own products.

Yea it will work no matter what type you have. The PAL and NTSC are only a problem if you have an SDTV because in a PAL region the SD resolution is 576i. The SD resolution for an NTSC region is 480i. The HD resolutions are the same around the world.

Unfortunally, I have no HD TV. I'm just thinking to buy it. Now I have only SDTV. But I belive that it works in NTSC and PAL mode. Maybe I'm mistaking. So, before I buy HD TV what do you sujest to me? I heard about NTSC-PAL video convertors. How do you think, how can I solve this problem?

I would just wait for the HDTV. It's really worth it. But the problem with the SDTV is that the PAL can recieve NTSC 480i signal but the vice-versa doesn't work meaning that the NTSC TV will not be able to recieve the 576i signal. I tested it out with ps3 video mode on YDL. On my NTSC screen the picture is very messed up when I switch it to 576i.

No YDL is free. And yes it does turn it into sort of a computer. I use it to do my homework . It comes with things like Firefox and OpenOffice.org 2.0. You can also play emulators.

Oh, uncholowapo!!! I've just install YDL 6. I switch to YDL and first it looks good. There is two pinguins and a lot of words. But when I press ENTER button on keyboard there is no happen else. Just black screen . But before I press ENTER I can type smth. from keyboard. Can I switch again to PS3? Now I can't play. Maybe I should type smt. to start Linux. I think problem in my TV. I have HTSC SDTV. Because after I press ENTER screen is not active (like when PS3 is off). Help me, please

I'm already installing. I gave 10 Gb for YLD 6. You know, Sony sent me e-mail yesterday. I've been told that North American NTSC console can't play PAL PS3 games. But know I don't belive them . I think all it's possible. Even if it's true in future I hope someone will make "cure" for PS3. You know what I mean

Hi! It's me again. I don't remember what login i've create? Should I reinstall OS? I don't remember that Linux asked me a login. I remember pass. Maybe there some default login? Thank you!
