just wondering if there's a way to restore the system software to an earlier state on v2.10 want to go to v1.80

If you want to downgrade, you will need to buy the InFeCtuS mod chip. I can't give you any further feedback on this subject, since I never tried it myself.

This is the only way, AFAIK.
