Default BD Game discs vs BD-R(E)

Hi all,

i just was playing with the PS3 game discs and my BD-RE disc.
And when i look to my writen BD-RE disc with a PS3 game backup on it.

It looks like there is a inner circle that has not been writen with the BD-RE!?
When i look to PS3 Game disc i recognize also a different inner circle then on the other parts of the disc. i checked with my writer.

And it seems the the BuRay Writer don't begin at the first position with burning.
It als should be readable for any other bluray rom drive.

i am little curiouse becoz couldn't it be possible to burn the inner side of those discs with a adjusted firmware for the writer. and adjusted fw for reading it out?

i also think it should be possible to read it out.
becoz i did another test

and i found out when broke the inner circle of the ps3 original disc. the disc just won't be recognized!? remove the tape and its back ok!!?!!

And it didn't over taped any data tracks

i won't say it is possible todo or not possible.. but i just want to hear what experienced guys will say about this?

Also to known.. i did only compare it with the BD-RE. Don't got the money to get those BD-R discs yet.

best regards,
PleXuS

I can barely understand what you are writing but let me try and summarize what you are saying and tell me if I'm right or wrong.

You took a comarison between a BD-RE and a PS3 Game Disc and noticed that the BD- RE did not have an inner circle that was on the PS3 Game Disc.

You check your Blu-Ray Writer and you see that it does not begin in the first position when writting.

You are curious to see if you could burn a custom Firmware to the inner circle for the writter and one for reading it out.

So you did a test where you covered the inner circle on the original PS3 Game Disc with tape and it did not get recognized. When you took off the tape it got recognized.

yeah something like that indeed
sorry for my bad english..

only this is wrong:
You are curious to see if you could burn a custom Firmware to the inner circle for the writter and one for reading it out.

not want to burn a custom firmware.. just developing a BluRay Burner Custom firmware that can read and write the inner circle part of the original discs to a backuped one.

but the qwestion is how is it stored on the disc? can it be regenerated on a backuped disc.?!?

Well Blu-Ray to me is a mystery.

When I orginally bought my 40GB PS3 with the Spiderman Movie (now on a GameStop shelf ), I noticed the inner circle, but I never thought about what it was. My theory is that it is encoded in something special. (I'll be back to edit got to go to 6th period)

well you maybe noticed some inner circle.. but thats not the part that do it
on original disc the part i mean looks allmost!!! the same

only when you watch good an change your position of holding the disc you can see there are different circles on the disc..

but it should be dumb if sony did make the bluray protection so easy to hack to
so i don't think it wil be broken so easy. but maybe help in some cases..
