Default Wireless Networking in Linux (YDL)

This is very important for wireless adaptor use while using YDL Linux on PS3:

TOPIC: Upgrading Kernel to enable PS3 Wifi under linux


Introduction
We have built a master script which completes all steps required to update the kernel. If you prefer to manually complete the steps, review this [Please register to see this link. ] which is intended for intermediate to advanced users.

WARNING!: This script installs a beta kernel. Beta software should not be used in a production environment as it is intended for test purposes only.

WARNING!: This script re-writes your kboot.conf which may render your system useless.

Note: This process will require an internet connection or must be compeleted prior to upgrading to GameOS 2.xx
  1. Open a terrminal window by clicking on the Yellow Dog icon on the task bar, then Applications --> Accessories --> Gnome Terminal
  2. To gain root access:
    su - [ENTER]
  3. When prompted, enter the root password.
  4. Download the auto updater script:
    Quote:
    wget [Please register to see this link. ] [ENTER]
    ... you will be presented with a progress bar and confirmatoin of download with "'ConfigWifiKernel.sh' saved [1089/1089]".
  5. Then:
    chmod 700 ConfigWifiKernel.sh [ENTER]
  6. Run the script:
    ./ConfigWifiKernel.sh [ENTER]
  7. Reboot the computer:
    reboot [ENTER]
