I just recently purchased a 500G Western Digital SATA 3.5" along with a Rosewill enclosure to put it in. I popped it in the enclosure and formatted the drive to Fat32, okay so now the computer recognizes the drive. However, when I plug it in via USB to the PS3, it does not recognize it.
I've got two Ext Seagate that work just fine, anyone care to guess what might be the problem? I'm a little perplexed.

TP

edit: The problem I guess was the SATA cable. works great now

I am running the game os right now, Haxen. I'd like to eventually use this 3'5" as the boot drive, but it won't show up on the XMB. I've formatted it to FAT32, nothing. I deleted the partion to see if the PS3 would recognize it that way, nothing.
I don't think its the power because it has an external power source, and like I said my PC sees it just fine.

I just received my SATA to eSATA cable today that I ordered and it works just fine.
Its very odd but I'm not complaining !

However, after formatting, my 500G was left with 465G. Once installing game OS, I am left with 413. Damn that took up alot of my space. Oh well, I'm still pretty
thrilled that this mod worked.
