multy region dvds

i was just woundering if there's a way to play us region 1 dvds on a europen ps3

but i have try dvds from the US and it says that's its the wrong dvd region, i have the 60gb ps3 and your not the first 2 say this, now how dose it know thats its not the right region and why would it be just be doing it to mine?? could there be a hardware problem i hope not im just out of warenty if u have anymore ideas please shout or if anyone else has any please do 2 i have alot of kids stuff and would save me alot of heart ake

jordash, iv been having that problem too!
i have a 60gb ntsc-j ps3 and it says it is region 2 but when i try playing my UK dvd's it says that it cannot playback the selected media.
If anyones got any ideas on this, it wud be great thanks

I also have the same problem. I have a 60GB PAL PS3 and it only plays Region 2 DVD's and Blu-ray Movies, but its fine with playing Region 1 Blu-ray games.

sony uk have a policy

if u brake the policy u invalidate ur warrenty

u got a pc , convert the dvd to pal

or buy a dvd player that plays them

it knows what region its in because sony programed it that way simple

games are not region locked but u may have to pay duty on import games i use
games-asia gamestop or play-asia

plus u get them early sometimes

its region locked but u can download movies from american store , movies are coming soon i think and if you already registered a europay account for a vitual credit card u may be able to download films from america , also the games and films are cheaper and newer lol
