Yea, you can run windows on Wine on top of QEMU emulator on top of Linux, but there is so much overhead in the emulation, it would only be good for demonstration purposes. I think we need Adobe to compile flash for PPC64 (cell processor) and get better java support for PS3 Linux, and then we can run more common apps that way.

Did it run really slow? Is the speed nice enough to play pc games or has that milestone not been reached yet?

ya, u could play some simple pc games, but anything that needs a fast cpu and especially accelerated graphix would be SOL, because:

1. Sony/Nvidia did not release the accelerated graphix drivers to Terrasoft yet
2. Much of the PS3 resources are spent on the emulation, which is really:

Windoze app
~~~~~~~~
Wine (allows emulation to play windoze apps)
~~~~~~~~
QEMU (emulation platform)
~~~~~~~~~
Linux
~~~~~~~~~
PS3 OS

If you look at the layers of software all running, u can see how overloaded this would be. But the cell can process it, just quite slow, like a 833 mhz pentium ONE with no accelerated graphix. Still lets u do some funny stuff though.
