What's the use of LiveCD?

I downloaded http://gentoo.virginmedia.com/experi...xfce4-beta.iso ,which is a livecd for Ps3only. It can boot up a full Gentoo without install anything on the harddrive.

But what is the use of it? There is no need to input a user name when login, which is not root, which means you can not see the hard drive...

Any idea?

You can use it to install Gentoo on your PS3 basicly. After the auto-login, open a terminal and do a

# sudo su -

to become root.

I've done I believe all the Howling Fjord quests, and now have an empty quest log however isnt there a quest that takes you into the next zone? If anyone can link it it would be most appreciated.
