Default Flash plugin now working?


This was posted in the PS3 Linux forum at QJ website. I though I would share here. I have not tested this myself, but it seems to be real.

I can confirm this works. It's not perfect though, there are some rendering issues.

I followed the site's instructions, but used the newer ebuilds attached to the bug report, not the ones linked from the instruction url. I just noticed there is an even newer ebuild dated April 4th. So go to [Please register to see this link. ] and try the newer ones

Is flash the same as javascript? bc i need to download a java plug in for firefox to work.

Hmm no. I haven't tried this myself, but emerging mozilla-firefox with the 'java' use flag should do the trick (# USE="java" emerge mozilla-firefox). Compilation may take ages though. I noticed the binary version does not have java support for some reason :-}

Edit: just noticed [Please register to see this link. ], that's a faster solution
