shimmy, you can't ruin a ps3 installing linux on it, if you actually happen to mess up, you can always reformat the drive and remove linux. The Game OS and XMB is never touched by the Linux installation and remains as primary OS at all times. Oh and when you do format the hd, that does not touch the Game OS or XMB either, all it does is removes your game saves and media stored in PS3, which you of course can easily back up and restore using a USB thumb drive.

yea, you need to clean up your PS3 if you messed with a fake ferrox, there is no ferrox that works.
Go into your normal Game OS XMB (cross media bar) and navigate to Settings then go down to System Settings and go in there and then scroll down to Format Utility and go in there select Use All for the PS3 System and that will completely remove any linux installation and ferrox mess. You can go back in here to select Custom when you install YDL again. |
