I am wondering...
Is anybody interested in buying a demonstration mode ps3... its a first edition store model and I really can't figure it out. I am going to get the 80gig MGS4 bundle so I really want to sell this one soon. if anyone is interested in buying it or has any suggestions on where to sell it let me know. I'm not looking for much just a bit to help pay for the $500 price tag. Much appreciated.

Sell it on eBay or craigslist. Or just keep it and install linux on it.

cant install anything on it... tried to install YDL and the boot loader went fine but the rest of the app wouldnt install properly... the only thing I can download is firmwares. no patches from sony or anything.

Have you tried to unlock it using the unlock codes?

Yeah I have all the unlock codes but certain things are always locked like the ps store. also when a patch comes out for a game it will completely download and then at the very end give me a 800 series error. im just wondering its worth... like do you think some one would actually buy it knowing its condition?

I wouldn't but that is just my opinion. Try selling it on eBay. Some people actually make use of it somehow. Anyways how did you get it?

I work at a privately owned gamestore and the distributer took advantage of us... they sent us a broken ps3 so we retuned it to them and the one they sent us back had no serial #s and it was a demo unit. we couldn't sell it so I bought it to get it off their hands so... now I might not want it.
