linux on PS3 ?'s
I'm a noob to this whole linux thing I first tried to get YDL 5.0.2 but every mirror I tried stopped downloading at around 2gb when the file was 3.67gb.
Then I tried Ubuntu 7.10 the desktop and alternative version both of them had the resolution at 575x384 and was the only option available. In the alternative during set up there was a option for to pick the res and I picked the highest one I could and still got 575x384.
I also in order to get back to the kboot screen had to hold the power button untill the second beep the turn back on I tried to the restart and power options in Ubuntu but would just idle with a blank screen and a single slash in upper left corner.
I'm now rethinking this linux thing for now I used up a lot of time this weekend on reading and trying to get this to work with no luck.
I do want to know if it is possible to load store bought ps3 games thru linux or do I have to switch back to the main ps3 system in order to play them.
I'm using a 60gb PS3(1.93fw) w/hdmi out to Toshiba 62hm84(62in DLP)
