Ok do this:

1) Turn off your PS3.

2) Flick the power switch on the back off and on.

3) Press and hold the Power Button on the front for 1 beep not counting the initial beep.

It should reset to factory options meaning that it will go back to original 480i and the settings will go back to default.

If one beep doesn't do it and the screen is still black, then try 2. If you do 2 beeps it will erase everything on the HDD that you have. (Maybe it was 3 I can't remember)
