Hello, new here on the board, a couple Linux questions
I don't have a PS3 yet because I'm still having a bit of a hard time finding one from a store, ( Don't want to buy a used one off craigslist).
Besides the fact that the PS3 is a killer gaming console, what's equaliy appleaing to me is the fact that it sounds like it makes a awesome media center. But I have a few questions.
First one being, is their any software that lets you mount ISO's like daemon tools for windows?
Second one- I'll be using a external hard drive, possibly 2x250gigs but most likely 1x250gig for movies and 1x160 for music. When connected via USB, does YDL automaticaly detect the drives? And am I able to use the media files?
The file extentions are .iso's, .avi's, and .mp3's.
If not, what are the supported file extensions? I do plan on using VLC media player, I already have it for Windows and absolutely love it.
Third one- I would also like to be able to use multiple emulators ,are their many available for YDL?
Fourth question- Would using Linux on the PS3 effect the gameplay at all? Would it take up system resources, or do I just boot from one of the other?
Basically, I'd like to have the PS3 be as much of a PC as possible while using a version of Linux, while keeping the PS3 console completely seperate.
Thanks in advance for the replies!
