I don't know what you're talking about with the notepad. The posted instructions are there so that you can see the prompt, and know what to type in.

Quick correction: You will need to download the liveCD and burn it, other wise you won't be able to boot to livecd prompt. My mistake. But you don't have to worry about the tools chains and the add-ons.
