Strange, because you can't erase the PS3 XMB partition. Simply holding down the power button(to reset A/V defaults and return to default OS) should work. What happens when you hold down the power button when powering on? Does it beep and STILL boot to OTHEROS? Remember, when you reset the PS3 "defaults" it will boot to a composite source(but it should detect HDMI if used). I haven't tried component, but I don't think it will recognize it....
