Ok first off let me tell you that I am a complete linux noob. Anyways.... I am trying to update my Yum.comf and repos files but i do not understand the directions at all. The directions which i am trying to follow are from yum.conf.info. Here are the directions i am given :
first delet yum.conf
copie this one cp yum.conf to /etc/
go grab keys rpm-gpg-key for in shell/console
Go into your terminal and type these commands as root (or type su to gain root privileges
rpm --import http://redhat.download.fedoraproject...-Fedora-Extras
and
rpm --import http://svn.rpmforge.net/svn/trunk/rp...-KEY-freshrpms
rpm --import http://svn.rpmforge.net/svn/trunk/rp...-KEY-yellowdog
thats it!
The part which i am confused with is the first part (the red text) can someone please explain them to me in the easiest to understand terms as possible. Please! Help! Also if you could add a small tutorial on how to do this it would help me greatly. Thanks
